With the latest Release 12, Oracle e-Business Suite has taken a different approach to financial controls and structures compared to the previous Release 11i. These changes are too numerous to list all but nevertheless, here are more notable ones:
• New Architecture that consists of Ledger Set, Subledger Accounting (SLA).
• New Centralized Tax engine, Intercompany capabilities and a new bank model.
• Introduction of an improved Multi-Org Access Control (MOAC), in and between Applications (ie. Payables, Purchasing, Inventory, etc.).
• Enhanced Legal requirements support in setting up and managing access securities within Legal entities and Operating Units.
• Inclusion of XML Publisher to enhance its Reporting functionalities, flexibility, and ease of use.
• Improved systems management that allows for managing entire systems infrastructure (ie. applications, middleware, and hardware) from a single console, thus proactively monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and events with alert notifications.
• Automated system cloning and better visibility across Instances ecosystem.
• Technical stack fully supportive of SOA technology and
• Enhanced security model that allows granular control of user, role, data access and user self-management and auditing.
• Better open APIs for easier integration with third party products.
