PCI Presents at OpenWorld with Monrovia Growers

September 23, 2010 at 3:00 - 4:00

PCI is honored to be selected a presenter at this year's OpenWorld. Carin Wager and Mickey Scannell of Monrovia Growers discuss how to make the JDE Transportation module work for you.

ORACLE’S LIFETIME SUPPORT POLICY

One of the most frequent questions I get asked is in regards to Oracle’s support for various applications. Our customers want to know what kind of support they have and when that support starts to expire. It seems like I am asked the same support questions several times each month. Since people are asking about it so much, I figured I would just put that information in a place where people could get it whenever they needed it. PCI’s website seemed like a logical place to me.

Oracle has been on a buying spree the last five years acquiring more than 50 companies. Most of those have been software companies. Many of our clients have seen the software packages that they have installed, that were once from several different vendors, one by one be added into the Oracle fold. The good news about that is they all fall under Oracle’s “Lifetime” support policy. What is that policy? I’m glad you asked. In the latest Lifetime Support Applications (PDF) document Oracle defines their support policy and when certain aspects of that support expire. The policy is defined on pages 2 & 3 (pages 5 & 6 of the PDF). There is a table of contents on page 2 of the PDF where you can find the majority of Oracle’s applications. Just as a tip though, you will find E-Business Suite on page 6 (page 9 of the PDF), JD Edwards EnterpriseOne on page 7 (page 10 of the PDF), and JD Edwards World is on page 8 (page 11 of the PDF). Since there are more than 40 other applications covered by this document (i.e., Siebel, Hyperion, PeopleSoft, Primavera, Demantra, Agile, etc.), you will have to check the table of contents to find where they can be found in the document. For your convenience, here is the Oracle Lifetime Support Policy for Oracle Applications document (as of March 2010):    pfd

Oracle updates their support documents from time to time to include newer releases so this is a moving target. For the latest updates you can always check here (at least until it gets moved on Oracle’s website):
